i found out that i am eligible for a 100% frre trip to Israel. airfare, hotel, food, activities, all free. absolutely no catch. i was very excited and told my parents about it. they forbade me to go and threatened to cut me off in every way possible if i do go. so i am not. to their credit, they only don't want me to go out of fear that i might get blown up. there is nowhere else in the world i would rather go, so i am quite a bit disappointed. i am eligible for this trip until i am 26 so i have some time. in other news there isn't much. i have been busy as hell writing papers and reading a ton of books. been getting pretty good grades so far though. one thing i was thinking about for no particular reason: there is a trend where i have been involved with a lot of women who have chosen to with hold intimacy. in almost every case, that is how is has been. i go back to that thing i used to say: there must be something about me that fails to captivate women in that romantic sense. maybe i am too nice. maybe i'm not too much of anything. i don't think there is much wrong with me anymore. i have my issues, but i think i'm getting them under control. i'm supposed to go out with this girl i sort of went out with in highschool. her story is in an entry entitled "long story from long ago" i believe. i ran into her at the hillel center at UIC and i called her purely on a whim. she said she'd want to go out sometime, but nothing has come to fruition yet. i'm not surprised. that's how it goes. i try not to expect anything from anyone. when you start expecting things from people is when they can start to hurt you.
